Upon completing teacher training in 1997, Joy co-founded the Joy of Yoga Center in Coral Springs, FL. She has returned to South Florida after three years in Sedona, Arizona. Joy brings warmth, humor and enthusiasm to her classes.

Ellen Hofmann comes from a dance background and began dancing with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet at the age of 6.  Her dance studies continued throughout her life.  Having suffered from many dance injuries through the years, she saw the unparalleled benefits of the Pilates method as a unique tool for achieving strength and flexibility without injury.  Pilates made such a positive impact on her life she decided to become a certified instructor in Mat Pilates.  Ellen believes that Joseph Pilates quintessential work was his mat work.  Her focus is to help people improve their fitness level while improving the quality of their life.  In 2003, Ellen was selected by WPBT to lead the Pilates breakout session at the Speaking of Women’s Health Conference.  Ellen teaches exclusively at The Yoga Source as well as running a successful practice as a Private Pilates Instructor, which allows her to taylor the mat work based on a persons specific needs.  Ellen can be reached through her web presence at www.ellenspilatesmat.com.

Grief and depression caused Akal to seek out Kundalini Yoga. The journey inward brought about a peace and healing she thought impossible. Malaika Wishart

“There is nothing outside of me as great as what is inside.” This is Malaika’s purpose in teaching Kundalini Yoga. To create a loving space to connect with  the inner light and love within that is the only lasting freedom and joy.   She was seeking inner peace and freedom when she was led to Kundalini Yoga classes seven years ago.  She completed her teacher’s training in 2007 and has been teaching for the last two years. Teaching Kundalini Yoga brings her great joy and it is her privilege and honor to share this teaching. She currently lives in Margate with her husband William.

Paul lives with a passion for sharing the art of Hatha Yoga. His classes organically flow to fit the practitioners’ needs, experience and overall energy of the group. For this, he puts an emphasis on understanding and connecting with his students. Throughout the practice, he offers posture modifications and assistance to every individual. He encourages awareness of breath on and off the mat to fuel patience and peace. Along with Hatha Yoga, he is also certified in Thai Bodywork and Reiki Healing. When Paul is not in the yoga studio, he can be found in the garden. He enjoys working and playing with Mama Earth and her plant children. He also has fun crafting unique vegan dishes that make his family and friends say “mmmmmm.” This is an extension of the mantra “om,” the sound of the divine.

Elsa Fox

Elsa Fox is a certified Hatha Yoga and Kundalini yoga teacher for 13 years. She has practiced yoga for 17 years and has traveled extensively around the world bringing many innovative contributions to her classes. Her warm personality coupled with compassion for people has helped her students realize their true potential. She also enjoys and practices the art of healing with sat nam rasayan . Elsa is a native of beautiful Guadalajara , Mexico . She has lived in the U.S. for 27 years, and currently resides in Coral Springs , FL. with her husband, 2 children , and French Bulldog.

Lynn Kahn

Lynn (Jagat Guru) has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 2003. She will complete her certification in level 2 Teacher Training in November 2010. Through her own spiritual practice and journey she has found Kundalini Yoga to be life changing; bringing awareness, love, compassion, grace and dignity to every aspect of her life. In her classes she emphasizes   the importance of breath awareness and how in this state inner peace and acceptance prevails.

Cristina’s love for yoga started 10 years ago on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Her realization that there is so much more to the Yoga practice than just the physical asana came soon after. During her travels throughout different countries she had the opportunity to practice with a multitude of teachers all the while embracing the many styles of yoga and continuously learning what the practice revealed. While growing in the practice, her yearning for spiritual growth, knowledge and understanding became stronger and the call for teaching beckoned. After completing a 200 hour RYT course, her passion for the Yin style, the dynamic Hatha flow, Vinyasa flow and Anusara Yoga has only deepened. Cristina has found teaching a humbling and natural experience and is grateful for every day that she is able to share her knowledge with practitioners of Yoga, new and experienced alike.

After losing almost 100 pounds Claudia came to yoga thinking that it would be a good addition to her fitness program. What she found completely changed her life. After being a yoga student for over 13 years Claudia decided to follow her passion and become a yoga teacher. She completed the 200 hour yoga teacher training with Juliana Trejo and became certified by The Yoga Alliance. Sandee Versace

For the past 30 years fitness has been a large part of Sandee’s life.  Besides home schooling her two children, Sandee has been busy practicing yoga.  She began her practice primarily for the “stretching” aspect but discovered how it added a new sense of calm & balance to her life. Ruth Sanders

Ruth Sanders, a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, has been practicing yoga since the mid 90’s. When the opportunity to take part in a teacher training with her long time teacher Juliana Trejo was available, she knew this was the path she wanted to follow, not only to deepen her own knowledge and understanding of yoga, but to be able to share her passion with others. Ruth teaches Hatha, Hatha Flow and Core Yoga. People often think they can’t practice yoga for a multitude of reasons, they are too old, not thin enough, not flexible enough or have injuries. Anna Crane

Anna has been practicing yoga and meditation for the past 40 years.  The practice of Yoga and meditation has always been intertwined.  One of the purposes of yoga asana is to prepare the body to sit in meditation. She completed her yoga teacher training in 2000.  We work with mantra, the first stage of meditation to stop distractions and make our mind clearer. The Buddhist practice of Mindfulness helps focus the mind on a single point which helps calm the mind and develop inner peace. Raja Yoga, the King of all Yoga brings awareness to the breath opening up the possibilities of higher consciousness.  Through meditation we can realize the peaceful nature of our mind. My purpose in teaching is to inspire so you can have a profound experience.

Ongkar Kaur (Megan Healey) has been practicing yoga for the past ten years and has been certified by the KRI to teach Kundalini Yoga since 2010.  Ongkar is also a certified  Yogic Numerologist and Holistic Health Counselor with a background in Psychology, Fitness, and Nutrition.  She loves working with people and is  grateful to have the opportunity to share the teachings of Kundalini Yoga with others.   She is passionate about integrating her knowledge of Kundalini Yoga and Numerology with her expertise in health and human behavior to empower people to transform and upgrade their lives.   Ongkar lives in Weston with her husband and three year old son.

As the Administrative Dance Director at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek and having earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Florida State University, Melissa attributes the start of her yogic journey to her lifelong love of movement. Melissa earned her 200 Hour YTT Certificate and is currently in her 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training from the Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach. She received her Pranakriya Prenatal YTT Certificate from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts and is also certified to teach Creative Relaxation for Children with Autism and Special Needs. She is also a Reiki Master and a strong believer in the role of energy work. Melissa’s passion for yoga is evident in her daily practice and continued commitment to growth as both a student and a teacher. As a mother of two children, she is a firm believer that it is important for expectant mothers to know the importance of community, physical comfort and childbirth education and advocacy. She teaches with clear direction and attention to alignment and detail to ensure safety and quality of practice.

From her very first class in 1998 at a local Y in New York, Pamela fell in love with yoga.   After several years of practicing yoga with her teacher Yogi René David, she knew she had to share this wonderful gift with others. Under his guidance in 2004, she completed the 200 hour certification and is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.   Pamela’s teachings are based on traditional hatha yoga practices and she believes that yoga is for everybody and every body.  Having practiced personally at every size from 8 to 26, she knows how to modify poses for every body type. With classes ranging from gentle yoga to dynamic vinyasa flow, there is something for everyone. Using classic asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques to increase awareness of body, breath, and mind, students learn to embrace their true self and accept what their bodies & minds will allow. Pamela’s teachings reflect her love of yoga and her joy in sharing it with others. She wishes to inspire her students mentally, physically, and emotionally through words, music, and making the most of each moment in life.
